Tonight Jeong Woo and I went to what is labeled as a
business bar or cocktail bar in Daegu named "Las Vegas." The
cocktail bars are very different than what I'm used to. They
have a system where the cute girls rotate from patron to patron and
booth to booth every 30 minutes. The girls pour your beer and
serve you the food or snacks you may order. They are very
polite and talk with you while they sit with you.
Most of the girls don't speak English, but a few do.
Above you'll see a couple of girls that speak English pretty good
and can carry a conversation with me. One thing that is very
interesting, is most of the girls ask me similar questions.
With Jeong Woo's interpretational help, they ask me my age, if I'm
married or not, what am I doing in Korea, and how long will I stay.
Some will comment on my large size, grayish hair, my hairy chest, or
say that I'm very handsome or cute. I think some Korean girls
don't see too well!
What I learned
today about Korea: 1) Cute girls are even cuter when you
drink Corona!
